Production Story

VECKTA approached Filmiamo Productions to highlight the co-branded story of Rob DeCou, an ultra-endurance athlete who was attempting to be named the 5th-ever "Uberman" , while simultaneously raising money for human trafficking prevention. VECKTA, an independent energy consulting company, had sponsored Rob, who would be self-powering himself on the race. They wanted to document his journey and the close ties between the company's vision and his goals.

Filmiamo sent one videographer to Los Angeles to embed on Rob's Uberman attempt for 6 days, who worked with another contract videographer to capture the stories of the Uberman attempt. Working together, the two videographers spent 26 hours awake on a boat filming his swimming attempt; and then lived out of a van (Chrysler Pacifica!) in Death Valley for 4 nights as Rob crossed the Badwater Basin.

Throughout the time on the road, the videographers took turns driving and filming; and created daily video updates that were uploaded each day to inform supporters of his progress and garner donations for the non-profit partner. Following the race, Filmiamo worked with VECKTA to create a long-form story of his accomplishments.
