Utilizing Day in the Life Videos for Connection

October 30, 2024

Customers want to understand the person, and the story, behind the products and services they are purchasing. The same goes for employees - especially in larger companies. They want to understand who they are working for and recognize them as humans too! Think of the rise of the show Undercover Boss and the increase in celebrity documentaries on streaming platforms. As humans, we love hearing what makes the people we admire who they are! We tend to trust people who we know, and this style of video, show or literature makes us feel connected!

Enter the Day in the Life video. This particular style of video is typically captured on the fly, with limited equipment and a smaller team. It allows our videographer to be more nimble, capturing authentic interactions and showcasing what makes this particular employee or individual’s life unique.

When filming this style of video, we are sure to capture natural sound to enhance the viewer's experience and understanding. This allows viewers to hear how individuals interact, learning more about the subject as they go! The filming tends to be less polished - as it captures the natural movements and motion of someone’s day.

When it all comes together, you have a compelling narrative showcasing what someone’s job or life really entails! Filmiamo has had the pleasure of producing two videos of this style from across the world - one in Brazil and one in Malaysia. Filmiamo hired the onsite videography teams, provided pre-production guidance, and served as the contact for shoot day, should any questions arise. The footage was then transferred to our team for editing, where we created cohesive pieces for brand promotion and connection.

Here’s two recent examples Filmiamo produced for one of our clients, Teleflex:
