Production Story

Fines and Fees dramatically impact millions of Americans but many remain unaware of their mere existance.

Filmiamo was tasked with telling the story of two jurisdictions that were willing to boldly enact reforms in their jurisdictions and serve as case studies for the removal of court fines and fees.

Filmiamo interviewed those who were instrumental in the reforms, as well as those who were impacted by the reforms and had faced fines and fees throughout their lives. Filmiamo then edited together case studies to showcase the change brought about by the elimination of these fees.
